What are you reading?
I find myself kinda stuck in a comic book rut. All I read it seems is DC comics. So what I want to know is, what are you reading?
Re: What are you reading?
Well at the moment I'm not really reading any comics but I would suggest the walking dead, I have 1,2 and 3 and their really good.

Re: What are you reading?
I could suggest that as well. My other suggestions would be Parker for Crime Drama, Invincible for a well through out alternative superhero book, Y the last man for end of the world types and finally Age of Apocalypse from marvel because it is my favorite ever!!!!
Re: What are you reading?
I am currently reading quite a bit the Nerd and the Noob Forums... so great stuff there!

Catching up can sometimes be the hardest part.supersimono wrote:I'm not reading anything at the moment as I haven't had time

Re: What are you reading?
A rule of thumb with comics is instead of catching up, find a place you are comfortable starting at and go forward then when you get spare time here or there dive into the history that you missed

the latest avengers reboots, the first trades, 'new avengers - everything dies' and 'uncanny avengers - the red shadow'

Got to borrow a nice selection of Graphic Novels from a friend. Just finished Rising Star and the Batman title of Hush. Also I've started collecting the Dark Knight titles because I was a strict Marvel kid but now I'm trying to expand to other titles.

Re: What are you reading?
I have watched Naruto, all the Naruto Shippuden, Attack on Titan and am currently getting caught up on Bleach so that is eating into my reading time a bit, i usually read novels sci fi or fantasy(not romance) I have not read a comic in quite awhile though.

Re: What are you reading?
If you're talking about the actual Ender's Game novel, be warned that books 2 & 3 (Xenocide & Speaker For the Dead) actually pretty much suck. You can read them for completion, but that's up to you. Unfortunately book 4, Children of the Mind is a bit better but relies on the other two to make sense.
However you can hop over to the Shadow series (Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Giant, etc) without too much problem instead. They're far better writing-wise, and tell a parallel story so there's not much interdependency since they tell the story of the 'other characters' instead of Ender himself.
There are also several post Ender Series books that are more standalone that are much better.
Essentially I'd skip the actual books 2/3/4, read the rest and come back to them if you ever get the free time and you're really bored. :-)
I myself just finally got around to reading the Injustice: Gods Among Us series. Holy crap that thing is good! It's like DC looked at Irredeemable by Image and said, "Hey, let's do that... only we can tone it down a bit. No destroying Japan!"

Re: What are you reading?
I agree about the injustice story line. It is amazing. I am behind on it but the stuff i have read is incredible
Re: What are you reading?
I get a kick out of it though. After Mark Waid wrote for Superman (Kingdom Come, etc) he essentially wrote "What if Supes went nuts and on a power trip?" with Irredeemable. And now DC seems to be copying him... so it's very cyclical. Superman (DC) -> Irredeemable (Image) -> Injustice (DC).
Re: What are you reading?
Actually there are a few Trade Comics out there of enders game that I want to read. I have read the first enders game book and loved it but i had heard the others where hard to read so thank you for confirming.Weslocke wrote:If you're talking about the actual Ender's Game novel, be warned that books 2 & 3 (Xenocide & Speaker For the Dead) actually pretty much suck.
